Shane Jabaar B.Sc(Hons) M.C.S.P. S.R.P. BSc(Hons in Sport Science).

Shane qualified as physiotherapist in 1994 from the University Of Cape Town, South Africa after first completing an Honours degree in Biochemistry in 1988 and a 2nd Honours degree in Sport Science in 1989 at the University of Cape Town.

After qualifying he worked at the University of Cape Town’s Sports Injury Clinic for 18 months before starting a private practice. During this time he worked with the two Premier League Football Teams in Cape Town, The University of Cape Town’s Rugby Teams, the Provincial Hockey Teams and the SA Men’s Senior Hockey team.

Between 1997 and 2002 Shane moved to the UK and worked in London, sharing his time between the NHS where he worked as a Senior Physiotherapist up to Superintendent grade and as a private Practitioner in a Fitness Centre. During this time he also worked part-time as the Physiotherapist to the SA Junior Cricket teams and travelled to 3 Junior Cricket World Cup Tournaments.

In 2002 he was appointed as the Principal Physiotherapist to the Senior SA Cricket Team and travelled full time with the team to all Test playing countries in the world. He travelled with the SA Cricket Team until 2009 and attended two One Day World Cups and one Twenty 20 World Cup Tournament.

Shane was appointed as the Chief Medical Officer to the IPL Cricket Tournaments held in India and SA respectively in 2008 and 2009.
More recently Shane has worked with the Irish Cricket team at their One Day World Cup Qualifying Tournament in SA and again at the 2009 Twenty 20 Cricket World Cup Tournament held in England. This was followed by working with the Nottinghamshire County Cricket Team for the 2009 season and a 6 month spell as the Senior Lead Physio for Nuffield Health for their 8 London Fitness and Wellbeing Centres.

He has now relocated to Northern Ireland where he has started a Physio Practice at Body and Sole in Belfast, working alongside local podiatrist Duncan Burnside.
